People choose to attend a technical college rather than attend university. Why do you think people make this choice? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.


Sample Essay

A university education is the goal of many high school students. Some students want to go into a profession that requires a university degree. But there are other professions that do not require a degree, but require certification from a technical college. The reasons why students make decisions to go to technical college instead of university probably have a lot to do with their choice of carrer, their own academic abilities and their financial situation.

First of all, students make their choices for post-secondary education based on the fields that interest them. A student who is interested in medicine might decide to go to university, into a pre-med program to prepare to become a doctor, or they might go to nursing school or a nursing program in a technical college. Some carrer choices offer a choice of educational route. The university route is usually more intense and takes longer, or choose to do the degree program as part of the architactural department at a university. Other career choices involve certification that is available at a college, like broadcast journalism or culinary arts programs for chefs.

A second factor that students consider when making their educational desicions is their own aptitude and academic ability. Some students are more academically inclined and are more interested in practical courses and hands-on training. These students would be more likely to choose a technical college that meet their needs. Either choice would be appropriate for achieving career goals.

The third factor that would affect a student's choice of educational institution is his or her financial situation. Some students do not have access to enough funds ot loans to cover the ecpense of a university education. These students might choose to start their career with the certification they can get at a less expensive technical college. If that training allows them to earn enough money to finace a degree program, they might go on to take the university degree in their field later. Nurses often follow this route.

It is clear that there is more than one reason for a decision about educational choices. Students consider their financial situation as well as their own career ambitious and educational abilities when selecting a post-secondary educational institution.

Why do We Believe in Lottery?

I remembered I bought a few lotteries when in junior school. And my teacher found them. She gave me a long and deeply moralism. In her theory, it's a thought of reaping whitout sowing. I didn't get any rewards from the lotteries, except for the theory. I didn't buy lottery for a very long time then.

Do I believe in reaping without sowing from lottery? Yes. But... I have learnt the subject of probability. So, why I buy lottery now is not because the astonishing rewards. I think, I am just finding an exciting feeling, or a wave in my life. A feeling to dream, that I become a millionare. But the most important point is the feeling before the drawing. A ups and downs in my life.

Sony's Walkman is the best! I want one from I was a child. But I lacked of money at that time. Now, I still lack of money... So I can just have this cheap one...

i finally found my package. i don't think i'm happy though.

i had a second definition for hero. First, hero ia the one who lives long enough to be a hero. Second, hero is the one who dies with injustice enough to be a hero.

Lost Something

Today i got a bad news. My package was lost. There is a suit in it. The express delivery company said someone else accepted it. A little angry. What a funny pretext.

The Weather and Light Rail in Dalian

What can i say? Nothing can i say! i complain the weather in Dalian for countless times. Today, it to my surprise snowed. Someone may think it's normal to snow in March, but it's absolutely not me! In my mind March is a month of Spring! It can only rain, but not snow! So, there are only 6 monthes that there will not possibly be snow...

i saw the second light rail newly builded. i really don't know the meaning that the rail is built in such a place far from the center of the city. i think we need it in the west, but not the northeast. Besides, i want a rail that has a station beside my school...

I Have a American Dream

i have a chance now, to go to there. What is important is, that i think i don't know if i will hace this kind of chance again to go out. Maybe it's the only chance i can go, study, and live there, whit another country, another culture. So, i want to grasp it. That's all.

Jury of the United States

i am interested in jury. It's really special because it's civilians judging civilians. i think the judge represents the God to judge because he has the power the goverment gived him. But civilians usually don't have it. So, there are difference between a person and the God. But jury constituted by ordinary persons can judge other civilians. Of course it's because they represent a common sense and moral standard of all the people, and they are fair. But should a man have the power to judge another man? Shouldn't only the God have this power? Why can a man judge another man? Because he is guilty? How can a man say it guilty? i think only the God can. So, jury is special. It's a kind of HUMAN JUDGE, that is, man judge man, not the God judge man. i think we always want the God to punish all the guilty man. But it is impossible. So, man judge man. HUMAN JUDGE, not GOD JUDGE. Oh, i should claim it again, it's fair, of course.

I Don't Want to Be Talkative

i always think i am a introvert. And i am satisfied with it now. But i found that i am a little talkative when with some people. And it changes automatically. There are really lots of news of China these days. The world economy is in such a poor condition, but people are focusing on those idle matters. One can pay 28,000,000 euros to buy two Chinese antiques in France. Ok, you prove your rich now.

Do you like if i say, France is a disgusting country? In fact, usually i will never say like this, because i don't think i have understood another country far far away. i can't judge it whether disgusting or not. But this matter really makes me think it. After all, before me many Franchmen criticized China as they DO understand China.

Lucky Meeting

i don't think i'm lucky today. Errrr, maybe not lucky in this damned year, 2009. The world is not lucky, let alone me. i have experienced all the subjects in the first half of the semester. Nothing interesting. Or i can say they are all boring enough so that i can complete a lot of PSP games... i am preparing the iBT TOEFL test. i never think that a foreign language can be learnt as one's mother language. A Complex Mood

What a Absurd World I am In...

This afternoon i was studying in the classroom A205. At about 4:00pm i left and went to have a bathe and my supper. Then when i returned to the room at about 6:40, i found the room was locked. i study in the compus for nearly 3 years, it's the first time. All my book is in it.

Then i asked the teacher who was in charge of the rooms. He told me it was the school's order to lock it and another room A201. And the reason was unknow... He was just told to do so... And the key is not in his hand. If i want my books back, i should wait until tomorrow...

I think everyone knows that pirate in China is a serious problem. But what I want to say today is ... the Chinese pirate is really creative...

Is a Suspending a New Begining?

My computer is broken today. And it is in a condition that it can't be fixed by my ability. So I decide to suspend this blog for a few days. I borrow another to write this blog.

I never thought the blog was stoped by such a way. I wrote this everyday because I thought if I didn't, I would write it very seldom.
